Live Aqua Punta Cana – Adults Only All Inclusive

I recently had the opportunity along with my wife to spend a long weekend at Live Aqua in Punta Cana. I had heard A LOT of good things about the Live Aqua brand and have seen first hand significant brand loyalty from previous customers. Now I know why. Not only are the rooms top notch, pools amazing, landscaping beautiful, beach breathtaking, and the food is fantastic. We would highly recommend this resort for an adult getaway.

The food here is really good. You can choose from multiple types of food including Mediterranean, Asian and my favorite restaurant on-site the Mexican Restaurant. Best meal I have had at any resort in long time. I’m a fan of churros. Yes, those doughy, fried cinnamon sugar treats are not only good for you, but taste great when done properly. Ok, they may not be the most healthy thing on the menu, but they are one of the ways I judge a Mexican restaurant, because at heart I’m a scientist and this provides a consistent data line. Not ashamed to admit I had 2 orders, and one of those were “for my wife” resting in our room. Oh it felt good to get that confession out. There were multiple travel agents with us who have many opportunities to sample fine dining and all agreed this stood out. The buffet was really good here, although we only ate there for breakfast. Stop and see Dankarly at the omelet station. This guy was ALWAYS upbeat and totally made our mornings.

There are 5 pools here. 4 that line the main walk way to the beach which surround our favorite bar “Wonderpool”. Erika and Angelo made hanging out at these pools fun, by getting to know us and keeping our drinks full. We also ate lunch here a couple times. There is an activity pool complete with a swim up bar closer to the beach. During the day entertainment staff has people dancing and playing games. Above the bar is the Mediterranean dining option and in front of it there is a small restaurant that serves bar food.

For the healthy minded there is an onsite gym and a spa. The spa has a very nice hydro therapy section along with multiple treatment rooms for massages. We had hand massages while we were there which were very relaxing. The gym has onsite physical trainers who are onsite 7am to 3pm. There are free weights, plenty of cardio and a spin cycle room where you can arrange a class. They will teach it or they will put a video on for you that is instructor lead.

The rooms are really nice as well. We recommend asking for a pool view as the other rooms look out over other resorts and are not as scenic. Be aware that the way the rooms are configured there is not a lot of privacy between the bathroom and the rest of the room as it is only separated by slates of wood that you can see through. The stall door is glass and does not go all the way to the ceiling so that could be a little uncomfortable for some people. Also, public service announcement here, there are no handles on the sliding door to the balcony, and it is a heavy door. Can be a bit challenging to open from the outside after a few drinks or if your hands are good and oily from suntan lotion.

Last thing to talk about is the beach. I loved the beach here. It is swimmable with clear water and very little to no seaweed when we were there. You can also run or walk for at least a mile in either direction. There are plenty of chairs to sit in with tree’s and palapas for shade. Staff will bring drinks and food to your chair so there is pretty much no need to go anywhere, or do anything but relax while you are there.

Overall we loved our stay here and would love to go back. The property is so beautiful and everything was so relaxing it was really hard to come home. If you would like more information or would like to see videos check out the resources below.
